After brunch, Emi hung around with Zeke, Amanda trailing after him. Obviously, she had developed a crush on him…so much for not liking black. She kept trying to talk to him. The key word is 'tried'. He didn't really hate or like her, but the questions Amanda pestered him with were slowly driving Zeke to hate Amanda. Many things that she asked about were: where he lived, his favorite music, his past, why did he move here, if he's single, and a whole bunch of other nonsense that Emi didn't bother remembering. She could tell Zeke was getting annoyed, because she was also getting annoyed, and she had some patience when it came to Amanda. Amanda soon sensed their annoyance, said bye and then left to pursue her other crushes…being the teenager she was. Only thing is, she dragged Emi off with her. Zeke just didn't know what to think, his face was going, "?"

"?" was on Emi's face too. "Why you little---You just made me ditch Zeke, Amanda!" Amanda let go of her and looked at me, slightly angry.

"Does he even talk?"

She sighed. "Of course he does! He IS a human after all!" Amanda looked skeptical.

"Are you sure, Emi? Cause that guy, 'Zear' or whatever doesn't even talk or show any hint of emotion!"

"Okay, Amanda, I have three things to tell you. One: his name is Zeke. Two: he does show emotion, he was getting annoyed! And four: Why are you so interested in him?"

Amanda pouted and clapped her cheeks in…embarrassment? Emi stared at Amanda's expression and tried to figure it out. Ah…I think she's…awestruck? "You don't have P.E. for second period so you wouldn't know. You should've seen him! He was so freaking cool!"

Emi grinned to herself. I was right. She is awestruck. "Cool? Elaborate please." Emi asked. He was ALREADY cool. Was it even possible for him to BE cooler? She regretted asking that question. Does she looked…umm…looked turned on…?

"In P.E., it was…well, it was just awesome! Zeke dominated all the guys. He was so cool! Also, you know our P.E. uniform? It looks like it was made for Zeke!" She paused to take a deep breath, and not a normal deep breath, but a very intense deep breath, and then she continued. "Zeke just blew everyone away! In basketball he stole the ball, dribbled, and made slam dunks like nothing! He didn't even break a sweat! It was incredible! Then when some guys challenged him to tennis, he smashed the ball so fast that the opponent couldn't even blink! In soccer he kicked the ball so hard he broke the net! And even after all that, he didn't even break a sweat! It all seemed so easy to him!" She took another deep breath.

"He was soooooooooo cool!" And then Amanda went off to fantasize in her own little world.

Emi rolled her eyes, and thankfully made her way to PE when the bell rang. For some inexplicable reason, everybody already knew about Zeke's endeavors in second period. How'd the news travel so fast? It's only been one brunch…only been 15 minutes. …Was it Amanda?

It seemed like a very cliché coincidence, but Zeke and Emi had fourth, fifth, and sixth period together. He made the classes a little less boring…but it was still pretty boring.

After school, Emi went to her locker, Zeke with her. Apparently, he likes watching me make a fool of myself, great…She inwardly pleaded for the locker to cooperate and open it. It didn't. She kicked it. Zeke snickered.

"Hehe…" His voice sounded evil with that snicker. Emi hit the locker some more.

"Hey Emi, you should stop your useless efforts…" he chuckled. "If you want I can help you…" He sounded rather smug, though he did have reason to…

"…OK." She put her book bag down, and moved aside. He just stepped forward, and put his fingers lightly on the locker door, closed his eyes, and then stepped away. "…" The locker door was still closed.
"…You don't expect it to open every time do you?" Zeke grinned. She gave him a doubting look, rolled her eyes and pulled the handle. The locker opened. He smirked. "Haha."

"Grr…just you wait! I'll open it myself one day!"

"Sure you will," And with that he walked off. Pouting, she put all the books in the locker and went after Zeke. He walked incredibly fast…

~.~.~.~.~.

Zeke walked to the school field, where the gate was. The school gates were at the front, obviously, and at the field where he was heading. He wasn't sure if there were any gates on the west or the east side yet. He walked moderately fast, and now that Emi was gone, he no longer had to act nice. He looked incredibly mean, with his eyes seemingly in a permanent glare, with his all black clothes; the silver chain dangling from his jeans, his black side pack with a shiny purple stripe, or a rehab color stripe.

He stood out like a black toe. Despite the sun, he still wore his turtleneck sleeveless shirt. He kept pulling the neck part up, as if he were covering it up. His pale skin stood out in the bright sun, and so did the bandages on his left arm, and so did the thick black line tattoo in the middle of the bicep on his right arm. His right hand was covered with a black leather glove that let his fingers free. When he got it, he realized that the glove size was too small so he cut it.

"Zeke Scryed?"

"…" Zeke had never told anyone his last name. At least…not that last name. His last name here was Turner. "Pawns, I presume?"

~.~.~.

Emi jogged to the field. She wasn't exactly sure where Zeke went, but she assumed home. She sighed and paused to go behind a tree. A suspicious group of muggers had started hanging around the alley near the field…

Wait, wasn't that Zeke in the middle of the street…? It looked like he was getting ganged up on…Emi got out her cellphone and started to dial 911. She was about to press "call", when… "Wait…what's the address?"

She sighed. There was no logical way she could be of any help in this situation…sure she knew more martial arts than the average girl, but there's no way that she could take out all those guys…even with Zeke's help.
HEEEEY, chapter 2!

This chapter's kinda boring. :/

Don't mind the crappily edited preview image.

It's Zeke btw. At the end of the chapter.

My Windows 7 partition got messed up and I don't have SAI anymore. Also, I don't have my extensive collection of lovely fonts. :/

I'm using Ubuntu right now (it's OK, but like Apple, it's extremely overrated..."freedom OS" it is, but everything is opensource and freeware, and SAI is not opensource/freeware.

I like my .exe files. :(

Anyway, come Thanksgiving, I'm coming back home (I'm at my dorm!) and I'm going to reformat my whole laptop and install Windows 7.

Why reformat? Because my partition got so messed up, I lost all of my files.

...For some reason, I don't mind that much. My stories and my music is all in my ipod & flashdrives. My art is all gone, but it wasn't like...really good art. Just WIP art.

:/

Hrm...

Anyway, kudos to you for reading this long. If you say "Lady in Pink", I'll know you read this far, and I'll post the third chapter faster. :)

Bribe, bribe, bribe?

Oh. Also. Foreshadowing, ooooooh...
